Having recently written two stories about yard gnomes, I'm in danger of becoming The Gnome Writer. Thankfully, my birthday isn't until November, so hopefully my writing group will forget about it by then and I won't end up with a collection.

No, I really don't want a gnome collection,
even if I did buy this beer for the picture.

But at the risk of perpetuating my gnome-loving status, I must share this link with you (thanks to colleague Camille Griep for the link). Go to it now! It's an IKEA ad about garden gnome warfare!

And if that whets your appetite, go read my story in Clarkesworld, "Melt With You."

And now I must get back to writing, thankfully, not about gnomes. I will write gnome more forever!

  1. I just read "Melt With You" on Clarkesworld and was so impressed that I googled the author, bringing me here. I hadn't even planned to read it, but the first two paragraphs were so good I just couldn't look away. Terrific story.

I haven't read this novel, but it's on my list. Just wanted to say your not the only one writing about Gnomes. http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/17312816-rough-magic

    1. Thank you so much for the kind words! Gnomes seem to be "in" right now, lucky for me. Maybe they'll be the new vampires. :)

    2. Ha. Now I want to start working on a Gnome story in the vein of Twilight.
